Letters to M.A.G.N.U.M.
from
Migraine Sufferers and Others

I am a 34 year old Mother of three who has suffered with migraines
for 23 years. With each child they become significantly worse (this
correlation was not discovered until the birth of my third child last
January) to the point where they are daily. I have a couple of tolerable
days and then one nonfunctional. My doctor is trying courses of medications
but pain suppression is my best friend these days. I have had to change
jobs from office manager at a university to a cashier in a video store
because of these headaches. I was then fired from the video store for
absences due to them as well. My children are all to aware of medications
and the P's and Q's of headache etiquette and my husband looses many
nights of sleep comforting me. I am trying to be proactive about my
treatment which is what has lead me to your website. The bounty that
I found though was not in medical information but in reassurance. This
disease makes a person feel so defective, so responsible and therefore
so much at fault. In reading your segments I was given encouragement.
I apologize for rambling on but it is rare that I can find comfort from
my pain while sitting at this computer.
Thank you again and I will be certain to visit frequently.
