You are cordially invited to attend the art exhibit "Washington Eros: A Local Exploration and Celebration of Erotic Art"

When: Thursday, February 8th, 2001 Where: At the renowned Christopher Mark's Restaurant Location: 1301 Pennsylvania Ave. NW (Across from the Warner Theater) Time: 6 pm to 10 PM Cost: $10 at the door (One complimentary Mor Vodka cocktail upon arrival served with select Hor d' oeuvres presented throughout the evening)

This supreme social and artistic exhibit of the erotic illuminates the perception of sexuality through imagery. Voluptuous scenes by local masters of art, such as Coleman and Mounib, combine with selected hor d’ oeuvres and cocktails to express with finesse what most find difficult to verbalize. The selections and illustrations of this thoughtfully arranged and beautifully presented collection are chosen not only to entertain and inform but also for life-enhancing erotica. This Exhibit includes diverse and outstanding fine art nude, erotic and sensual photography works by the most noted and talented artists in Washington DC today.

About the Artists:

Rebecca D'Angelo received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in art at the University of New Mexico. She has a weekly photo column in the Washington Post that appears every Monday in the Style section - it is called "Out & About". Her editorial work has also appeared in Talk magazine, Ms. magazine, Richmond-Times Dispatch, and The New York Post. In addition to this, she shows regularly in galleries - jurried and invitational, locally and regionally - on the east coast.
Michael John Coleman is a native Washingtonian who is a nationally recognized, award winning leader in alternative process photography. Michael's work has been featured in many national magazines, books, and many major exhibitions and events. Known for his painterly style and impressionist approach, Coleman's artwork has been published in more than 175 fine art exhibitions and has earned awards from many notable personalities in the community such as Peter Thomas, former Dean of the Corcoran Museum and Art School; David Tannous, critic for Art in America; Clare List, curator for the Baltimore Museum of Fine Art; Clifford Chieffo, contributing editor for American Artist; Howard Paine of National Geographic Magazine, and many, many more. Michael was also nominated for a 1990 ALEX Award, the highest honor the city has for the Arts.

 

Penny L C Hauffe has had year's of illustration and painting experience. She is currently working with Georgetown's Fraser Gallery and Sotheby's Online.
