Teri Robert, Ph.D.
At Large Support Advisor

MAGNUM is proud to have the top selling health writer and award winning patient advocate Teri Robert on our Board of Directors as our At Large Support Advisor. She is a well know authority in Migraine disease & headache disorders. In addition to being an outstanding public health advocate she is a the Lead Expert Patient for our friends at MyMigraineConnection.com, a HealthCentral site, where Teri writes cutting edge articles about what is going on in the medical community related to head pain issues.

Public health advocate and writer Teri Robert's career moved in this direction when her own Migraine disease spun out of control in the late 90s. Faced with debilitating Migraines and failed medical care, she hit the Internet for answers. She soon found that there was no one site that combined all she was looking for, and that there are sites with excellent information and sites with misinformation. She saw joining the world wide webs popular About.com team as an opportunity to produce their site for head-pain issues as was a way she could help others. She started and ran the About Headaches & Migraines site for nearly seven years before joining the team at MyMigraineConnection.

Teri is a nationally well known patient advocate, and was awarded the National Headache Foundation's Patient Partners Award in 2004 for her "ongoing patient education, support and advocacy." She is the At Large Support Advisor for MAGNUM, the National Migraine Association; a member of the Education Committee of O.U.C.H., Organization for Understanding Cluster Headaches; and an advocate for the American Diabetes Association. Her first book, "Living Well with Migraine Disease and Headaches", published by HarperCollins was released November 1, 2005 and is the top selling Migraine book according to Amazon.com.

Teri has appeared on CNN Headline News, during a Prime News Tonight health segment, in an educational story about Migraine disease. In addition she has done dozens of radio broadcasts across the nation discussing Migraine disease and headache disorders.

The need for current knowledge in this field is critical, especially since there is so much developing research. Teris Ph.D. is in ethics not medicine, but we believe her Ph.D. background gives her excellent perspective to understand and deconstruct the health industry. To satisfy her need for the most current medical knowledge, Teri is constantly studying medical journals and books and attends medical conferences on a regular basis. She has earned continuing education (CME) hours from various programs offered by such medical non-government organizations the American Headache Society, the Primary Care Network, and the Center for Health Care Education.
