Cassandra Eckert

Ms. Eckert serves as Development Director for MAGNUM, and has been involved with MAGNUM since the mid 1990’s. Ms. Eckert has a great understanding of the burden of Migraine disease and an important member of MAGNUM’s Board of Directors & Advisors.

In addition Ms. Eckert serves as President and CEO for DC Social Insider LLC concentrating on business integration, leadership and motivation to other members of DC Social Insider’s Team, establishing company policies and objectives in accordance with the corporate charter and serves as primary contact with the metropolitan Washington community. Ms. Eckert also manages the strategic alliances and partnerships DC Social Insider forms with other companies in order to  produce a more powerful and efficient mode of competing in the Washington DC metropolitan marketplace.

Prior to DC Social Insider Cassandra Eckert was CFO and Editor in Chief of DCity Magazine, a Washington DC-based glossy nightlife and entertainment publication. During her tenure at DCity Magazine Ms. Eckert oversaw the monthly editorial content, while supervising the writers, photographers and contributors. Additionally, Ms. Eckert performed some design preparation, presentation, illustration work, along with some layouts for publication using specialized techniques and programs. Ms. Eckert also assisted in the creation of the DCity Magazine marketing program, website development, advertising management, and entrepreneurial venture initiation. Born in Annapolis, Maryland, she pursued her degree in Business and Mathematical Studies at Marymount University, Virginia. Ms. Eckert also has additional leadership experience from her time spent serving in the United States Navy aboard the U.S.S. Acadia before venturing into the entrepreneurial arena in 1994 with her first company Dine n' Wine Online an online dining guide for Washington DC.

Cassandra is an active philanthropist, personally and professionally.  She donates her time and efforts to several non-profit organizations in the Washington DC metropolitan area. In addition to serving on MAGNUM’s Board she has also served the past three years on the Selection Committee for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Man & Woman of the Year Campaign, which for the past those same 3 years, has grabbed the National fundraising title.  She's also made several guest appearances for charity include an appearance with Superbowl Champion Ricky Ervins at Cheers for Children at the Sports Club LA, at the Ritz Carlton Hotel. Also in 2002, Ms. Eckert made a special appearance with Redskin Wide Receiver Rod Gardner for the Rod Gardner Foundation Benefit in Bethesda, Md.

Recently, the Washington Symphony Orchestra, the official orchestra of the nation's capital,  announced that Ms. Cassandra Eckert has been named to the symphony's Board of Directors President's Council, effective November 2002. One Ms. Eckert's current projects for the WSO, is the organization of the Washington Symphony Orchestra's Annual Gala celebration (www.washingtonsymphony.org) taking place March 29, 2003.
